To begin the North American Star League's 2012 eSports tournament calendar, NASL is pleased to announce the NASL Team League. The NASL Team League will pit eight of the world’s best StarCraft 2 teams against each other as they battle each week for a $10,000 prize pool. The league will consist of 8 teams:, 4 of which via invitational and 4 via qualifiers. The four invited teams consist of the top 4 finishers from the second season of the GosuCoaching Premiere League: Empire, EG, Mouz, and Liquid.
NASL Team League Format
The NASL Team League will be played in a round robin style, with each team playing every other team in the league. Matches will be played KOTH (King of the Hill) style wherein the winning player continues to fight until he is defeated. A match is won when four of the opposing team’s players are defeated.
NASL Team League Qualifier
The NASL Team League will have a qualifying event this January 7th and 8th, starting at 10am PST. The second event will be on January 14th, also starting at 10am PST. The qualifiers will consist of a single elimination b racket in a Bo7 all-kill format. The starting map will be pre-set, with the following map pool:
